Grimsby Town youth team welcome Bradford City to Cheapside in EFL North East Youth Alliance 2019-20 on Saturday (11am).

Neil Woods’s side – who won the league for the first time in their history last season – started their campaign with a 4-1 away defeat to Doncaster Rovers last weekend.

And the young Mariners will be looking to bounce back from that, and claim their first win of the season, against Bradford City this weekend.

Lennon Stead is in good form for Town, after scoring the Mariners’ only goal last weekend – as well as his title-winning strike in the 1-0 final-day victory over Lincoln City last term.

And the forward will be hoping carry that momentum from his recent form into this weekend’s clash with the Bantams.

Bradford finished third-place last season – three points behind Town – and they’ll be hoping to win the league this term.

They started the 2019-20 campaign with a steady 1-1 home draw with Huddersfield Town last weekend.

And they will be looking for their first win of the season against Town at Cheapside.

The other fixtures in Town’s league this weekend are: Notts County v Doncaster Rovers, Rotherham United v Mansfield Town, and Chesterfield v Scunthorpe United.

After this weekend’s clash with the Bantams, Town are away at Burton Albion on Saturday, August 17 (12pm).
