Scunthorpe United U18s v Grimsby Town U18s match preview

By Adam Smith

Grimsby Town youth team could go four points clear at the top of the EFL North East Youth Alliance table with a win over Scunthorpe United

Neil Woods’ Grimsby Town youth team travel to Brumby Hall to face 11th-placed Scunthorpe United in EFL North East Youth Alliance on Saturday (11am).

The Mariners, who are a point clear of second-placed Lincoln City, will be looking for a repeat of the 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe United at Cheapside earlier this season.

And Town will be looking to carry their momentum on from their excellent form so far this season, having lost just twice in the league this campaign.

Town striker Rumarn Burrell will also be looking to continue his excellent run of form, after adding to his goals tally with a brace in the 5-2 win over Rotherham United last weekend.

But local rivals Scunthorpe, who have lost three of their last five league games, sit third-bottom and will be hoping to climb up the table with a positive result against Town this weekend.

After this weekend’s game, Town travel to Burton Albion on Friday, March 15 (1pm).
