The young Mariners, who are winless in three games, are currently in third-place – one point behind league leaders Doncaster Rovers, with three matches remaining.
And Neil Woods’ Town youth team have the chance to earn their first win in four games, and take their tally up to 40 points for the season as they face the Terriers this weekend.
And, despite not having an EFL North East Youth Alliance fixture last weekend, the young Mariners will be in high spirits, after Rumarn Burrell made his first-team debut for Town on Saturday.
Burrell came on as an 84th-minute substitute as Michael Jolley’s side lost 2-0 to Stevenage in Sky Bet League Two at Blundell Park, with Mattie Pollock and Brandon Buckley also on the bench.
But the bottom-place Terriers – who have picked up just three victories all season – have won just one of their last six games.
And they will be hoping to put a dent in the young Mariners’ hopes of winning the title this season.
Town beat Huddersfield 3-1 at Cheapside back in November, thanks to a brace from top goalscorer Rumarn Burrell.
Lennon Stead also scored for Town as they climbed to the top of the EFL North East Youth Alliance table.
And they will be hoping for more of the same this weekend as they look to return to the summit once again.
Elsewhere in the title race, top-of-the-table Doncaster Rovers travel to eighth-place Oldham Athletic, and second-place Mansfield Town host fifth-place Bradford City.
After this weekend’s clash with the Terriers, Town are without a game for another week before returning to action at home to Oldham Athletic on Saturday, April 27 (12pm).
