Neil Woods' Grimsby Town youth team look to maintain their place at the top of the EFL North East Youth Alliance table

“Grimsby Town youth team aim for a fourth league win on the bounce”

Neil Woods’ Grimsby Town youth team travel to St. George’s Park to face seventh-placed Burton Albion in EFL North East Youth Alliance on Friday (1pm).

The young Mariners, who currently top the table – four points clear of second-placed Lincoln City, will be looking for their fourth league win on the bounce.

And Town will be hoping for a repeat of the 3-0 win over the Brewers back in November, as captain Brandon Buckley, Rumarn Burrell, and Kyle Richardson struck for the Mariners.

Town centre-forward Burrell will be looking to continue his fine form from recent weeks, after scoring four goals in his last five games in all competitions – bringing his tally to 15 for the season.

But the Brewers, who are looking to make it three league wins on the spin, will be hoping to continue climbing the league table with a victory over Town this weekend.

Elsewhere in the title race, second-placed Lincoln City host fourth-placed Doncaster Rovers, while third-placed Bradford City are at home to 10th-placed Notts County.

After Friday’s clash, the young Mariners welcome Chesterfield to Cheapside on Saturday, March 23 (11am).
